Murano, Burano and Torcello: Venice Islands private tour
The journey begins by passing through the Venice Arsenal, the historic Venetian shipyard complex, and then heading to the island of Murano.
We begin with a private visit to a “fornasa“, having the demonstration with a Master of artistic glass blowing e where we will admire the beautiful artistic masterpieces of them show-room.
Later arrival to Burano, the colourful fishing island but first of all lace making tradition. In the island where fishing is still the main economy, we will walk through the town’s streets and squares in the beautiful scenario made of multi-coloured homes and palaces. This is the “leaning tower” island with a myriad of small art museums and lacemaking workshops one can see the work of the old ladies of Burano, Queens of this ancient craft.
After lunch at a restaurant we recommend, we will continue on the estuary lagoon with the stop at Torcello, first island of the Venetians, settlements began when they fled from barbarians during the fourth century. There is the first Cathedral of Venice, dated 639 amazing for its Byzantine golden Mosaics.
A great final with a slow ride during the sunset on the main “street” of Venice, the Grand Canal with its fantastic Palazzi.
